Pictures from the Big Day

You asked for it, now you have it: 21 random photos from the wedding day... all well taken by Aunt Con (Thanks!) And, as a limited time bonus, I'll even intersperse my (Andrew) thoughts throughout... a little Donald Miller Stream of Conciousness style.

Groomsmen should never goof off during the rehearsal. And the groom himself should definitely not partake in such shenanigans.

Apparently Justin really didn't get the memo. Seriously. Hehehe.

The wonderful wedding woman (ooh, look at the alliterative power marriage gives you!), Shelly Paice, gets the bridesmaids in line.

And now, the day of the wedding. Here I am waiting with flowers for the bride.

Oooh, pretty flowers!

I think we must've been looking at something musical happening stage right. Or is that stage left? I don't know...

Rebecca and the Sister Bridesmaids

The Mackays, new and not-so-new. This was definitely our best acquisition. I mean, it's like when the Penguins signed Sidney Crosby. Seriously.

The whole wedding party. I wanted to do a dance like little Andrew (yep, the ring bearer is Andrew, too), but no one wants to see that.

Check it out... flowers.

The cutest bride in the world with the cutest flower girl in the world.

Man, the pictures keep on getting better! Note: I am not in these pictures.

No groomsmen were hurt in the photographing of these stunts. Although, I think Sam almost broke his leg.

The Bridesmaids. They're a pretty bunch... especially that one in the middle... but why is she in white? Oh wait... I get it.

Look what I can do!

The groomsmen.

The wedding party... and man, what a party it was... I think I even paid a cover charge.

With my mom and dad.

With Rebecca's parents and Granny,

During the reception... hiding behind some green, leafy object.

Getting ready to throw... as I recall, she cleared everyone out there. Yeah, my girl's got an arm. She claims to have been aiming for the only single girl in the bridal party... and as I further recall, she aimed pretty well.

And that is the new Mackay family leaving... It was a great day, and we greatly appreciate everyone who had a hand in making it all go off so smoothly. Having now been married a month, I think we'd both say that married life is treating us well... yeah, definitely.

I think that's it for now.

Andrew,

For the Mackays (finally, for really, legally, and all!)

All Systems Go!

Dear Friends,

You know, I have been blessed to write these mass-updates in increasingly better circumstances. I am quite thrilled to be able to let you all know that yesterday, my Fiance Visa was finally processed, and as of 2:45 pm today, I have it in my possession. I can now enter the United States and marry Rebecca! This means that our plans for July 15th will proceed as scheduled.

I think it's safe to say that it'd be impossible to overstate how excited we are. We hope that as many of you as possible will be able to be with us for the event.

Just to recap:

Wedding at 2pm, July 15, at Daniels Bible Church. Reception to follow.

If you're going to be able to make it and you have a minute, drop us an e-mail and let us know. But, please come, whether you let us know or not!

Excitedly,

Andrew,

Mackay Update

Dear Friends,

It is truly a joy to be writing to you under more pleasant circumstances than the last time I sent out one of these mass e-mails. Thank you so much for your graciousness in the days that followed our "delay."

Thankfully, yesterday we heard from US immigration with a date for my interview with them. They've spelled out very clearly what we can expect... I have an interview with them on the 5th of July. Barring some misfortune, I'll have my visa for entering the USA the next day.

So, Rebecca and I, along with our parents, are pleased to let you know that we've rescheduled our wedding for Saturday July 15th at 2 in the afternoon at Daniels Bible Church in Daniels, WV, as originally intended.

If anything should happen to go awry in the final stages of the immigration process, we'll be sure to get the word out as quickly as possible.

We would be thrilled if you all could attend. We covet your prayers during this time of preparation. Specifically, we'd ask that you pray for God's peace to continue to comfort us through the frustration, and that God's will would be done during these final stages of the immigration process, that our paperwork would be complete, and that the interview would be as easy as possible.

Thanks so much.

Andrew

Changes in Plans

Dear friends,

thank you so much for your plans to celebrate with us. Unfortunately, due to immigration scheduling circumstances beyond our control, Rebecca and I have been forced to postpone our wedding by at least two months. We apologize for the inconvenience. This was truly unforeseen. We would still love to have you all there when we finally do get married, although we understand the challenge of planning to be at a wedding once, let alone twice.

Our hope at this time is to be married sometime in July or August 2006. Please let us know if you would like us to keep you posted on how this all develops.

We will be going ahead with our Canadian reception on May 14th, as plans have been made and things are in place. The only real change is that instead of leaving with Rebecca and her family after the reception to go to West Virginia, I'll be staying in Canada until such time as I clear the immigration requirements necessary to gain entry to the USA.

We are frustrated, but trust God that His timing is far better than ours, even when it isn't necessarily clear to us. Thanks, and again, our apologies for the inconvenience to your schedules.

Sincerely,

Andrew,
for the future Mackays
(just a little more distant than we thought)
